Fancy seeing you here!
Get to know a bit about me:
Graphic design and creativity slowly crept into my life, without me immediately realizing its importance. I joined my high school magazine as a junior and looked forward to a career in writing. However, I met the Adobe Creative Cloud and my life was forever changed. Enthusiastically, I took on the role of design editor my senior year. I thoroughly enjoyed the late nights I spent editing and designing each magazine. When I came to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I was afraid my love for design and photography wasn't going to be enough. Luckily, I have found that my passion is everything. It has driven me to do crazy things like start my own business, join the Daily Nebraskan, take on two leadership positions at once, and pull all-nighters finalizing each and every detail on class projects. I am fortunate enough to not only have creativity as a career choice, but also as my passion and I am confident it will help me overcome every battle ahead.
Throughout this site, you'll find work that I've put passion into,
However, before you get into all of that, I want you
to know what I'm passionate about.
FAMILY
Let me tell you, these people drive me crazy; they also keep me sane most of the time. If it weren't for their support, I wouldn't be where I am today. I have my dad's humor, my mom's brain, my sister's clothes (don't tell her), and my little cousins' desire to never grow up.
STORIES
Books, movies, the night of your 21st... I love to hear all stories. Fiction or non-fiction, the act of telling stories in beautiful words pulls on my heart strings. I would love to be able to write the next story that makes someone else feel the way I do when I read stories or watch movies and TV shows.
ALPHA PHI
If you would've told high school me that I'd be in a sorority and love it this much, I would've laughed in your face. Unfortunately, I had believed the stereotypes around Greek life. I came to college ready to try new things, so I figured, "why not?" and what I found were so many reasons why; 190 to be exact. These women push me to do my absolute best, are there for me at my worst, and, most importantly, laugh at (most of) my jokes.
I recently taught myself how to play the ukulele and it has been so fun to learn. I have no musical talents but this has been such an awesome stress reliever from school and work. It's also a cool party trick since I just learned Happy Birthday!
DOGGOS
These two pups came into my family's life my freshman year of college. My parents said it was because they wanted an excuse for me to come home and boy, did it work! These good girls are the best hiking and cuddling buddies! Their special talents include licking peanut butter spoons cleaner than a dishwasher can. (I promise we still use the
dishwasher, though.)
SURFING
I've been wake surfing for about seven years, and it is the thing I look forward to most every summer. It is so rewarding to set goals on the board and beat them every summer. One summer, I surfed over a mile without stopping. Last summer, I finally crossed over the wake without a rope! I will also never say no to anything done in, around, or at a lake.
TRAVEL (& MUSIC)
If funds weren't needed, I would spend my whole life traveling. Nothing compares to the things you learn in new places meeting new people.
